The Logo Philosophy
The Gajah Mina is the symbol of navigational intelligence. Just as it masters the depths of the ocean with precision, The IKABDI 2026 PIN serves as a compass for digestive surgeons to master the complexities of human anatomy through the technology of tomorrow

The Gajah Mina
The Gajah Mina: philosophy of the IKABDI 2026 badge a syncretism of local wisdom and medical innovation.
The Gajah Mina, a mythical Balinese creature featuring the head of an elephant and the body of a fish, serves as more than an aesthetic symbol. If represents a profound fusion of formidable power and navigation agility.
Aligned with the theme “Advancements and Precision in Upper GI and HPB Surgery”, the Gajam Mina embodies four core pillars:
1. Precision & Power
The elephant symbolizes intelligence and immense strength, while the fish represents fluidity and agility within the depths.
Surgical context: operations in the Upper GI (Upper Gastrointestinal) and HPB (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary) tracts demand both mental fortitude and extreme precision. Much like an elephant’s trunk — strong enough to uproot a tree yet sensitive enough to pluck a single blade of grass — The modern surgeon must master robotic technologies that are powerful yet capable of micro-precision.
2. Navigating The Future
The Gajah Mina is known as the master of the oceans, capable of piercing through the strongest currents.
Surgical context: The HPB organs are often regarded as the “most difficult terrain” in surgery due to their complex vascular structures. The phrase “Navigating The Future” mirrors the Gajah Mina’s ability to navigate the deep. It symbolizes how surgeons utilize image-guided surgery and artificial intelligence (AI) to map and dissect complex human anatomy.
3. The Gatekeeper (Balance & Harmony)
In Balinese architecture the Gajah Mina is placed at entrances or on sacred structure to maintain energetic balance.
Surgical context: upper GI and HPB Surgeries aim to restore metabolic balance and vital functions. This philosophy emphasizes that technological advancement must not stand alone; it must server the noble purpose of restoring harmony within the human body.
4. Evolution and adaptation (advancements)
The union of two distinct realms (land and sea) signifies evolution and adaptability.
Surgical context: IKABDI 2026 marks a pivotal transition from conventional methods to minimally invasive surgery (MIS). The Gajah Mina symbolizes that to conquer future challenges, digestive surgeons must integrate two worlds: traditional clinical experience (The Elephant) and dynamic, cutting edge technology (The Fish).

Distinguished colleagues,
It is a profound honor for me, on behalf of the organizing committee, to welcome you all to sanur, bali, for the national scientific meeting (PIN) IKABDI 2026.
This year, we have chosen the theme: “advancements and precision in Upper GI and HPB Surgery: Navigating the Future.” this theme reflects our response to the rapid evolution of medical technology, which demands that we operate not only with manual dexterity but also With high-level precision driven by technology and data.
Sanur, which is currently evolving into an international medical tourism hub, was specifically selected to provide a refreshing and inspiring atmosphere for us all. Beyond our intensive scientific agenda—ranging from robotic workshops to multi-center panel discussions—we are also committed to hosting this event as a paperless conference to preserve the natural beauty of our beloved Bali.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire committee, our sponsors, and most importantly, our speakers who have dedicated their time to share their expertise. I hope this meeting serves as both a warm reunion and a catalyst for innovation in digestive surgery across indonesia.
Enjoy the conference. Let us navigate the future of Digestive Surgery with absolute precision.

Welcoming Remarks from the Chairperson of IKABDI
Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
Salam sejahtera bagi kita semua,
Om Swastiastu,
Namo Buddhaya,
Salam Kebajikan,
Rahayu.
Greetings of peace and health.
Distinguished digestive surgeons from across the nation,
First and foremost, let us offer our gratitude to God Almighty. It is by His grace that in this November 2026, we can once again gather for the IKABDI Annual Scientific Meeting (PIN IKABDI) 2026 in the beautiful Sanur, Bali.
The world of surgery today stands at a pivotal crossroads, moving rapidly toward an era of automation and personalized medicine. Our theme, “Advancements and precision in upper GI and HPB surgery,” is far more than a slogan; it is a call to action for us all. Complex cases involving the upper gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system now demand an approach that is significantly more holistic and precise than what was required even a decade ago.
IKABDI remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring that Indonesian digestive surgeons stay at the forefront of technological mastery—whether in minimal invasive techniques, robotic surgery, or the integration of artificial intelligence in operative diagnostics. This meeting serves as a vital opportunity to align our standards, strengthen our professional networks, and ensure that patients throughout every corner of Indonesia receive a consistent, world-class quality of surgical care.
I would like to express my highest appreciation to the organizing committee for their hard work in realizing this modern and eco-friendly event. To all participants, I encourage you to make the most of every session to enrich your knowledge and exchange innovative ideas.
Let us make PIN IKABDI 2026 a new milestone for the advancement of digestive surgery in Indonesia.
See you in Sanur.
Thank you very much.
